At Congregation Beth Israel, we share interests and build community.

Congregation Beth Israel Brotherhood has a great history of building a spirit of fellowship, mutual support, and spiritual growth while furthering the core activities and objectives of our Congregation. We have strong and connected members who focus on strengthening the ties of our members and their families to participate in educational, cultural and recreational activities within CBI, and the greater community. We must be mindful of the future, and the mindset of today’s Jewish men. We seek to reintroduce our Brotherhood as a relaxed and enjoyable setting for personal growth and communal connection. If you’re a man that may not have connected with the synagogue, our club was designed for you! If you’re a man who has been connected, we know you have a lot to offer! Please join my fellow Brothers and I in this effort this upcoming year. To this end, we have organized events that should cater to all; bringing us together to do good deeds and make good friendships.

“Who occupies himself with the needs of the community is as though he occupies himself with Torah.” Talmud Yerushalmi, Berakhot. Our Caring Community is made up of congregants who want to bring blessings into our community by providing support in times of joy, sadness, need and celebration. Our Caring mensches deliver meals and challah, make calls and visits to check in, provide rides, visit homebound congregants, deliver shivah trays and soup to support and sustain our membership. We send cards and greetings to celebrate special anniversaries, birthdays and milestones and messages of condolence to families who have experienced a loss. Special gifts are given to welcome new babies into the community. Sweet ice cream mazel tov’s are sent to B’nai Mitzvah celebrants and care packages are sent to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year college students to mark their learning and achievements and to connect them with their spiritual home. The Caring team and the mitzvot they perform are about being the threads which connect us, strengthen us, and create the beautiful fabric which is our Congregation Beth Israel Community. If you would like to be part of this amazing group of volunteers or if you would like to be part of creating new ways to connect and strengthen our community, WE NEED YOU!!! Pride was created to support and connect Jewish LGBTQ+ members (and their significant others of any faith) through holiday celebrations, social events and advocacy. We are committed to being a spiritual home for all LGBTQ+ Jews. CBI embraces LGBTQ+ Jews no matter where they are on the many spectrums of identity and love. Pride events include an annual Pride Shabbat service and flag raising, typically in June during Pride month, Pride Night in the Sukkah during Sukkot, and a Chanukah Pride Event with special treats and the lighting of the menorah. Pride advocates to protect the civil rights of all LGBTQ+ people and is a part of CBI's Social Justice Coordinating Committee. Events are listed on our calendar at cbict.org/calendar, in our weekly e-newsletter Chai Lights and in our bi-monthly Bulletin. To learn more or simply to connect with Pride, email PRIDE@cbict.org.

Proceeds benefit our annual Purim Carnival, the ASL interpreter at High Holy Days services, and other CBI programming. Community Coffee helps foster social engagement among religious school parents and families. Please contact Rabbi Rosenbaum if you can help at hrosenbaum@cbict.org.
